Fly BOAC to Britain HistoryBuffs promoting Marksburg castleAn original travel poster, Fly BOAC to Britain, Allan Carter, c. 1953 54. A forerunner of British Airways, the British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) was renowned for the quality of its poster campaigns in the 1950s. This one is from a series designed by Allan Carter in the mid 50s featuring various national 'types' against a dark blue background (in this case a Tower of London Yeoman of the Guard inspecting one of the castle's famous ravens).
